How to set up Apollo Group TV on Fire TV, smart TVs and more

To set up Apollo Group TV, wait for your activation email, install the Apollo TV app or a supported IPTV player on your device, and sign in with the details from that email. On Fire TV and Android devices you install the app with Downloader; on smart TVs, Apple devices and computers you use an IPTV player.

Before you start

  • Your activation email. It contains your username, password and any links your player needs. It usually arrives within 1–4 hours of ordering; check spam if you can't find it.
  • A stable internet connection. Wired Ethernet or strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi gives the best results, especially for HD and 4K.
  • An up-to-date device. Install pending system updates first; the Apollo TV app needs Android 5.0 or later.

How to install Apollo Group TV on Fire TV and Fire TV Stick

Fire TV devices install the Apollo TV app through the free Downloader app. The same steps work on Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube and Fire TV smart TVs.

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, go to Find → Search, type Downloader and install the orange Downloader app.
  2. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install unknown apps and switch Downloader on. If Developer Options is missing, open Settings → My Fire TV → About and press the select button on your device name seven times to reveal it.
  3. Open Downloader, select the address box, enter 9837964 and select Go.
  4. When the download completes, select Install, then Delete the installer file to free space.
  5. Open the Apollo TV app from Apps & Channels and sign in with your activation details.

Tip: hold the Home button and choose Apps to move the Apollo TV app to the front of your app row. More detail about the app is on the Apollo TV app page.

Android TV, Google TV, NVIDIA Shield and Android phones

Android-based devices run the same Apollo TV app. This includes Google TV devices such as Chromecast with Google TV, NVIDIA Shield, Android TV boxes and Android TVs from brands like Sony, TCL and Hisense.

  1. Install Downloader from the Google Play Store. On a phone or tablet you can use your browser instead.
  2. Allow it to install apps: open Settings → Apps → Security & restrictions → Unknown sources (the name varies by device) and switch Downloader or your browser on.
  3. Enter 9837964 in Downloader and install the app when the download finishes.
  4. Open the app and sign in with your activation details.

Samsung and LG smart TVs

Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) TVs cannot install Android APKs, so you watch Apollo Group TV through an IPTV player from the TV's own app store.

  1. Open the Samsung Apps or LG Content Store and install an IPTV player app. Ask support which player we currently recommend for your model.
  2. Open the player. Many show a device ID or MAC address that you register on the player's website together with the playlist details from your activation email.
  3. Restart the player; your channels, guide and on-demand sections load automatically.

iPhone, iPad and Apple TV

Apple devices use an IPTV player from the App Store. Install a player that supports playlist or login details, choose the option to add a playlist or account, and enter the details from your activation email exactly as written.

Watch on a Windows PC, Mac or laptop

You can watch on a laptop or desktop with the free VLC media player or a desktop IPTV player.

  1. Install VLC from videolan.org.
  2. Open Media → Open Network Stream (on Mac: File → Open Network).
  3. Paste the playlist link from your activation email and select Play. Use the playlist view to switch channels.

VLC does not display a TV guide. For guide and catch-up features on a computer, use a desktop IPTV player instead.

MAG boxes

  1. Open Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals.
  2. Enter a portal name and the portal URL from your activation email.
  3. Save and restart the box. MAG boxes are linked to your subscription by their MAC address, so include it when you order.

TiviMate, IBO Player and other IPTV players

Most IPTV players, including TiviMate, IBO Player and Kodi PVR clients, work with Apollo Group TV. When you add a playlist, choose the login type that matches your activation email and copy the details exactly. If a TV guide (EPG) link is included, add it in the player's EPG settings so program information appears next to each channel.

Troubleshooting common setup problems

Buffering or freezing

Restart your device and router, move to a wired connection if possible, and close other apps using your connection. If it only happens on one channel, try another quality version of that channel.

"Invalid login" or authorization errors

Check for extra spaces and upper- or lower-case letters in your username and password. Details only work once your subscription is activated; if you just ordered, wait for the activation email. More fixes are in the Apollo Group TV login guide.

No TV guide or missing subtitles

Refresh or update the EPG from the player's settings. Subtitles depend on the title and the player; look for the subtitle or audio-track option while playing.

The app will not install

Make sure Install unknown apps is on for Downloader and that the device has free storage. If the code stops working, message support for the current link.

Using Roku, Xbox, Chromecast (without Google TV)?

Support for these depends on which player apps are currently available for them. Message support with your exact model before ordering.
