How to set up Apollo Group TV in TiviMate (M3U & EPG)

Add your Apollo Group TV playlist to TiviMate, load the TV guide (EPG) and fix the errors people hit most often.

By Apollo TV Stream · Updated

To use Apollo Group TV in TiviMate, add a playlist with the M3U link or login details from your activation email, then add the EPG (TV guide) link if your email includes one. TiviMate loads your channels immediately and fills in the guide after its first update.

TiviMate is a third-party IPTV player for Android TV devices. It is not made by Apollo TV Stream, and some of its features, such as recording and managing several playlists, require a paid TiviMate Premium upgrade. If you would rather not configure a player yourself, the Apollo TV app signs in with just your username and password.

What you need before you start

  • An Android TV, Google TV, NVIDIA Shield, Fire TV or Android TV box. TiviMate is designed for TV screens, not phones.
  • Your Apollo Group TV activation email. It usually arrives within 1–4 hours of ordering; check spam if you can't find it.
  • A way to type long links. Your TV's phone remote app or a USB/Bluetooth keyboard is much faster than the on-screen keyboard.

Step 1: Install TiviMate

On Android TV and Google TV devices, install TiviMate from the Google Play Store. On Fire TV, search the Amazon Appstore first; if TiviMate is not listed for your device, message support and we will point you to a supported option.

Step 2: Find your M3U link or login details

Open your activation email and check which of these it contains. Use whichever you have; you only need one to add the playlist.

  • An M3U playlist link: a single long web address, often containing your username, password and the word "m3u".
  • Login details for an Xtream Codes-style account: a server address (URL), a username and a password.
  • An EPG link: a separate address for the TV guide. Some logins load the guide automatically, so not every email includes one.

Copy every character exactly. Links and passwords are case-sensitive, and an extra space at the end is the most common reason a playlist fails to load.

Step 3: Add the playlist in TiviMate

  1. Open TiviMate. On first launch it asks you to add a playlist; later you can find this under Settings → Playlists → Add playlist.
  2. Choose the type that matches your email: "M3U playlist" for a single link, or "Xtream Codes login" for server, username and password.
  3. Enter the link, or the server address, username and password, then select Next.
  4. Wait while TiviMate checks the details. It shows how many channels, movies and series it found.
  5. Give the playlist a name, such as Apollo Group TV, and select Done.

Step 4: Add the EPG (TV guide) link

If you signed in with an Xtream Codes-style login, the guide normally loads on its own. If you used an M3U link, or the guide stays empty, add the EPG link from your email:

  1. Go to Settings → EPG → Add EPG source.
  2. Enter the EPG link exactly as it appears in your activation email and select Next.
  3. Return to the EPG settings and choose Update EPG. The first update can take a few minutes on a large lineup.

Tips for a cleaner channel list

  • Hide groups you never watch: long-press a group in the channel list and choose to hide it. Your subscription is unaffected.
  • Add favorites with a long press on a channel, so the ones you watch most are always at the top.
  • Set the EPG to update automatically in the EPG settings, so the guide stays current without manual refreshes.

Fixing common TiviMate errors

"Playlist is empty" or authorization failed

Re-enter the details and check for typing mistakes, missing characters and trailing spaces. Details only work after your subscription has been activated. If you ordered recently, wait for the activation email first.

Channels load but the guide is blank

Run Update EPG from the settings and give it a few minutes. If it is still blank, re-add the EPG link from your email. Some channels simply do not have guide data.

Buffering on some channels

Restart the device and router, and use a wired connection if you can. The setup guide troubleshooting section covers more connection fixes.

Too many connections

Each plan allows a set number of devices to stream at the same time. If you see a connection-limit message, stop playback on another device or upgrade to a 2-device plan.

Using a different player

The same details work in most IPTV players, including IBO Player and Kodi PVR clients. The menu names differ, but the steps are the same: add a playlist, choose the login type, paste your details and add the EPG link. Our setup guide covers smart TVs, Apple devices, computers and MAG boxes.
